This question is something I get asked a lot. It’s not an easy question, lol if you are not in a traditional role. I can best describe myself as a Philanthropist, Visionary and Social Entrepreneur. I love investing time into people and projects that add value to people’s lives. Investing my time in building something from nothing excites me. The book the Alchemist can best describe what I consider to be my profession. But on the academic front I am an Actuarial Student studying towards completing my professional exams to qualify as an Actuary. I am also planning to start my MBA program at IBR School of Executive Management at Steinbeis University in Berlin in 2014. What was the first job you ever had?................ Worked as a domestic worker at Queens Court in 2003 (old people’s home in Buckets hill). Used to clean up toilets after old people had messed them up badly, loved the chats with the old chaps they kept it real. And yes that s**t was nasty lol but I made them sparkle. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?......... My first memory was Lawyer, cause (mwana wacho nharo dziripo) no not at all but I like to ask questions and stand against any form of injustice. Then I realised I hated reading and enjoyed Masvomu then eureka Auditor came into mind. Manini Gladys then hit me with a bomb shell after grade seven... She simple sowed a seed... “Mwana wangu you are too clever to just be an auditor, you have to be an actuary there are only 4 in the country” My eyes light up like a Christmas tree, but hey taifarira musikanzwa so I shelved it and thought I best aim for charted accountant, that stuff is for boffins..... What inspired you to start your business or pursue the career you followed? … The moment my life changed, 2010 my final year at City university A City University Investment lecture organised by a class mate. I had no idea or clue this small decision will alter the course of my life.... I meet Muzaffar Khan the author of the book that is responsible for the drive you see in my now Racing Towards Excellence.... from then i believed in myself set goals and at 28 I have achieved everything i wanted to achieve J How did you get started with your company or profession?....... We are just starting I can’t even begin to imagine how this is going to end but timing and positioning is everything Is this your first business? If not, what were the others, and what happened to them?......... GH Incorporated is the first Income generating business City Graduates Ltd (created 2010) was the first and a student development organisation (togetherforcity). Started exploring the power of social networks and marketing techniques to drive the business with minimum capital investment. Had to shelf the idea. Joined MO Customs and worked under my young brother building custom computers. Then Organo Gold a network marketing company the best in the world. Meet great people but i needed to be a student to understand leadership. How did you finance your business and what was the process like? …….. Everything to date has been self financed and soft loans from family and friends. Total investment about £11,000.00 How many employees do you have? Full- or part-time? OR How many people do you manage in your position?................ Since GH started we have 3 Part time employees Axercare medical managed on employee Organo Gold two distributors at present All other projects I have had to consult with people with the skill set i need and learned it at used it when i need to What is an average workday like for you?................ I am involved in a number of projects but the most important think is freedom to choose What I want to do not what I have to do. It’s empowering freedom to chase your dream. I sleep for a maximum of 5 hours when I get lucky. As a devout Christian I spend at least 2 hours daily with God. I love it bible school is amazing. What are the most crucial things you have done to grow your business?............ Networking guys it’s not what you know, it’s who you know. Please, please realise you need to surround yourself with people that push to chase your dream. And when you get there please its not a chance try and show how clever you are but create value... Three years of networking sacrificing everything and chasing your dream and vision demands resilience. What plans do you have for expansion?.................... We are focused on solving the health service delivery system in Zimbabwe. Plans are in motion to open the first Zimbabwean Owned Investment Bank and Insurance Brokerage in UK, Zimbabwe and Dubai. We are looking to complete our registration with Lloyd’s of London in January for GH We are launching a Healthy Coffee franchise Sunn Kaffe in Zimbabwe and the UK leveraging of Organo Gold products. Realise that you were created because God saw a need in the world and moulded you to solve that need. The easiest way to become successful is to measure yourself against you yesterday. Refuse to be the same as yesterday in all aspects of your life. What you do in 24 hours in the some total of your current success. Listen if money wasn’t an issue what would you do and why? Lets say you have six figures and you never ever , ever need to work for the rest of your life. What would you do and why? That answer is what you should focus on the WHY..... if the Why is big enough the How doesn’t matter.... Give yourself permission to succeed.
